Office of the Prosecutor General holds swearing-in ceremony for Chief, Deputy Chief, and Advisers of Office (2025-11-01)

The swearing-in ceremony for the Chief, Deputy Chief, and Advisers of the Office of the Prosecutor General took place at 5 p.m. on 30 October 2025 at the Public Prosecutions Office Building.

In accordance with the Prosecutor General’s Dispatch no. 11/2025, Wong Hio Nam, Ng Meng Tai, Chan Chi Ieong and Chan Ka Ian are appointed, by commission of service, as Chief, Deputy Chief, and Advisers, respectively, of the Office of the Prosecutor General (GP), with the term being effective from 16 October 2025 for one year.

Chief of Office Wong Hio Nam, Deputy Chief Ng Meng Tai, Advisers Chan Chi Ieong and Chan Ka Ian jointly took the oath before the Prosecutor General, Tong Hio Fong, who administered the oath of office. They solemnly pledged to uphold and enforce the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, bear allegiance to the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, discharge their duties faithfully, abide by the law, maintain integrity in public service, and serve the Macao Special Administrative Region to the best of their ability.

Assistant prosecutor generals, prosecutors coordinators, prosecutors, as well as heads of various units from GP also attended the ceremony, witnessing this significant moment. 

Under the leadership of the new chiefs, GP will continue to fulfill its responsibilities in full accordance with the law. It will also constantly enhance the professionalism of its personnel and its management capacity, proactively contributing to the well operation and development of the Public Prosecutions Office.
