Citing media sources, there have been reports claiming irregularities observed in tender awards for renovating facilities of the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) granted by the Office of the Prosecutor General (GP) since 2015. Considering such rumours are not subject to scrutiny by the Court of Final Appeal (TUI) in the current open trial sessions, the GP hereby issues clarifications under the principle of objectivity in order to defend its due reputation as a public entity.
Since 20 December 2014, the GP has been actively adopting measures to optimize project tender awards, service acquisitions and procurement procedures in order to safeguard legality and promote transparency.
The GP welcomes relevant mechanisms and community members to oversee all sorts of public expenditure of the MP.
