Public Prosecutions Office and Court hold work meeting to accelerate digitalization infrastructure (2026-07-01)

The Public Prosecutions Office (MP) and the Court held a work meeting today (1 July) to promote the digitalization of infrastructure across the judicial sector and enhance the efficiency of law enforcement and case processing.

Ms. Wong Hio Nam, Chief of Office of the Prosecutor General, noted that the meeting aimed to deepen cooperation between both parties on IT development by adopting technology to streamline case handling procedures and promote electronic platform integration, thereby advancing the overall operational efficacy of the two sides. Mr. Celestino Lei, Chief of Office of the President of the Court of Final Appeal, expressed his hope of gaining a deeper insight into the MP’s Seized Assets Management System during this session, as well as engaging in practical discussions on electronic file transfers and the outcome of applying AI in judicial operations.

Later, staff members of the MP’s Information Division presented on the MP’s Seized Assets Management System, the electronic case file platforms, and information-assisted case management workflows. Representatives from both sides then exchanged views on issues such as data sharing for seized assets and electronic case files, and the challenges encountered during the IT development process.

Attendees from the Court also included: Ms. Lei Hio Fai, Chief Registrar of the Primary Court; Ms. Leong Sok I, Head of the Judicial and Technical Support Department; Mr. Fung Wai Lim William, Head of the Organization and Information Division; Ms. Leong Pui Man, Head of the Judicial Affairs Division; and Mr. Arménio Rodrigues, Assistant Chief Registrar of the Primary Court. Other attendees from the MP included: Mr. Cheang Kuai Wun, Head of Support Department of the Office of the Prosecutor General; Mr. Manuel Machado da Silva, Chief Registrar of the MP; and Mr. Ngai Lap Man, Head of the Information Division.
