Delegation of the Shenzhen “Special Training Course on Alignment of Cross-Border Legal Rules and Mechanisms in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” visits the MP (2026-05-22)

The Public Prosecutions Office (MP) received a 24-member delegation of the “Special Training Course on the Alignment of Cross-Border Legal Rules and Mechanisms in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” today (May 22). The training course was organized by the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and hosted by the Hong Kong Academy of Public Administration. The MP held a seminar for the participants on Macao’s prosecutorial system and other topics.

During the seminar, Prosecutor Wu Hio introduced Macao’s criminal legal system, crime statistics and prosecutorial cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Prosecutor Leong Choi Man also presented on the organizational structure, duties, power and operational model of the MP.

Subsequently, the two parties actively exchanged views on strengthening prosecutorial cooperation between the prosecutorial organs of Guangdong and Macao, differences between the criminal legal systems of the two jurisdictions, among other topics.

Attendees from the training course included: Chen Zhenbo, Member of the Leading Body of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and Vice President of the Law Society; Zhang Li, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Political Department of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Procuratorate; and Huang Duobin, Director of the International, Hong Kong and Macao Research Division of the Policy Research Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, among others. Besides, Chan Chi Ieong, Adviser of the Office of the Prosecutor General of the MP also attended the seminar.
