Prosecutor General Tong Hio Fong attends IAP Executive Committee Meeting in Shanghai (2026-04-16)

From 13 to 16 April, Prosecutor General Tong Hio Fong attended the 61st Executive Committee Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (hereinafter referred to as the “IAP”) in Shanghai for the first time as a co-opted member. Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China, Ying Yong, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The Executive Committee meeting deliberated on several agenda items, including the Secretariat’s activity reports, updates from various sub-committees, recommendations for IAP awards, the annual professional working programme, review of proposed amendments to the IAP Constitution, the IAP’s financial reports, and arrangements for future meetings.

The IAP is a non-governmental organization, which is the only global network of prosecutors. Currently, the IAP has over 170 organizational members, including prosecution authorities and associations of prosecutors in different countries and regions. The Public Prosecutions Office of the Macao SAR (MP) has been an organizational member of the IAP since 2000. By participating in IAP meetings and activities, the MP actively engages with the development of the global prosecutorial system, further strengthens ties with prosecution services worldwide, and consistently promotes the professional development, quality, and standards of the Macao SAR’s prosecutorial work.

Delegation of the MP also included Wong Hio Nam, Chief of Office of the Prosecutor General, and a staff member from the Promotion and Exchange Division.
