Committee member Ye Zhen leads delegation of the Hengqin Working Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee to visit MP (2025-11-01)

Ye Zhen, member of the Working Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and Deputy Director of the Work Office of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province (Hengqin Work Office), led a delegation to visit the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) yesterday (October 31), where they were received by Prosecutor General Tong Hio Fong. The two sides exchanged views on issues including the SAR’s criminal investigation and procedural system, and the work relating to judicial assistance in criminal matters.

During the meeting, Prosecutor General Tong Hio Fong introduced the fundamental structure of MP and its role in directing criminal investigations within the criminal procedural system. He hoped that through this exchange, both sides could share their experiences in areas such as the rule of law construction, as well as the regulation and mechanism alignment, working together to advance the in-depth integration and development of the judicial systems between Macau and Hengqin.

Assistant Prosecutor General, Kuok Un Man, and Prosecutor Coordinator, Leong Weng Si, respectively presented on the operation of the criminal procedural system, the judicial protection of minors, and the administrative supervision functions. Subsequently, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanged opinions on related topics. They agreed to maintain close communication in the future and to further strengthen judicial cooperation and exchange between Macao and Hengqin.

Other attendees at the meeting included Chief of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Wong Hio Nam, Prosecutor Coordinators, Tam I Kuan and Ho Man, Prosecutors, Pak Wa Ngai, Lei Lei and Wong Fai; Head of the Political and Legal Affairs Division of the Hengqin Work Office, Zhao Zhenwu, and Deputy Head of the division, Chen Yuanzhi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Subgroup and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Hengqin People’s Procuratorate, Chen Zhigang, among others.
