
On 6 June 2025, the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) received a delegation of 23 members from the “Training Scheme in Common Law” and “Training Scheme in Common law for Officials from Ministry of Justice”, organized by the Department of Justice of Hong Kong. During the visit, Prosecutor Coordinator Mr. Cheong Kuok Chi and Prosecutor Ms. Mui Cheng Fei had a discussion with the trainees.
The two prosecutors gave an introduction on the fundamentals of the judicial system of Macao; the organizational structure and responsibilities of MP, in particular the role of MP in criminal proceedings, such as directing investigation, prosecution and other supervisory functions conferred by law; as well as the role of MP in participating in the three major areas of prosecution, namely, civil, labour and administration. Constructive exchanges on judicial practices were also held.
Attendees from Hong Kong included Government Counsel Mr. Ng Che Kin, Curtis and Law Clerk Ms. Chan Fung Shan, Louisa from the Hong Kong Department of Justice. Those from Macao included Head of Department of the Office of the Prosecutor General Ms. Cheok Sin Chi and Head of Division of the Legal Affairs Bureau Mr. Ma Lei Cheong. Other attendees were students from the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong.
