The Public Prosecutions Office introduces E-Certificate Service

2024-11-14

To promote electronic services in judicial affairs and to cater with the development of Macao SAR’s e-government, on 1 September 2024, the Public Prosecutions Office launched e-services for sending and receiving official documents, as well as publication of e-notices and public notices by electronic means. To further expand the scope of such service, the Public Prosecutions Office launches the e-Certification Service, with effect from 15 November 2024. After obtaining approval of their offline application, the public may choose to visit the Criminal Proceedings Office of the Public Prosecutions Office in person or to make payment through “Macau One Account” or “Business or Associations Platform”, after which, the applicants may obtain the required e-certificates through the “Macau One Account” or “Business or Associations Platform” accounts. Thus, applicants no longer need to proceed to the Public Prosecutions Office again to collect the certificates in person, thereby achieving the goal of better accessibility of judicial services for the public.

In the first phase of the implementation of the e-Certificate Service, electronic certificates issued by the Public Prosecutions Office do not include documents relating to criminal investigation case files.

The Public Prosecutions Office will continue to proactively and orderly promote e-services for judicial affairs, with a view of enhancing work efficiency as well as providing more convenient judicial services to the public.
