The Chief Executive, Ho Iat Seng, officiated at the inauguration ceremony of the Public Prosecutions Office Building (MP Building) of the Macao Special Administrative Region in the morning of 18 December 2020, during which he unveiled the building with the Prosecutor General, Ip Son Sang. Prosecutors from the Criminal Proceedings Office of the Public Prosecutions Office and judges of the Criminal Preliminary Hearing Court of the Primary Court also attended the ceremony.

In his address, the Prosecutor General extended his gratitude to the SAR Government for its massive support to MP’s operation. Ip also believed that the MP Building substantially enhanced MP’s operational conditions. He indicated that the facilities will serve as a solid foundation for further optimization of MP’s daily operation and improvement of service quality. All prosecutors and MP staff will continue to uphold our mottos of pursuing judicial justice and justice for the people, deliver services in a pragmatic and active manner, and safeguard the rule of law.
After the ceremony, the Chief Executive toured the building and was introduced to daily operation of facilities of the Criminal Proceedings Office.
Located at Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues, no. 683, the eight-storey MP Building is designated as the operation venue of the Criminal Proceedings Office of the Public Prosecutions Office, the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Criminal Preliminary Hearing Court of the Primary Court, while the Prosecutorial Offices at three levels of Court remain their services at their respective original locations.
14 December 2020 marked the first day of services of the Criminal Proceedings Office in the MP Building. At 8am on the same day, the Flag Hoisting Team of the Public Security Police Force performed flag-hoisting ceremony at the rooftop of the MP Building for the Prosecutor General, prosecutors, judicial assisting staff and staff of the Office of the Prosecutor General. Witnessed by the solemn national and regional flags, the SAR Public Prosecutions Office embarked on a new judiciary journey.
