Attending “Seminar on theoretical and applied discussions on how prosecutorial agencies serve and safeguard construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin”

Upon invitation of the host and on behalf of the Macao Public Prosecutions Office (MP), Prosecutor Coordinator, Lai U Hou, and Prosecutor, Pak Wa Ngai, participated in the “Seminar on theoretical and applied discussions on how prosecutorial agencies serve and safeguard construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” held by the Zhuhai City People’s Procuratorate in the Hengqin New District People’s Procuratorate on 24 August 2022.

During the seminar, Prosecutor Coordinator, Lai U Hou, and Prosecutor, Pak Wa Ngai, were invited to introduce prosecutorial functions of MP, the role MP plays in supporting the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (Hengqin Cooperation Zone), as well as exchange and cooperation mechanisms between prosecutorial agencies in Guangdong and Macao. Representatives of judicial, prosecutorial and executive agencies from Guangdong Province and Hengqin Cooperation Zone also made remarks. In addition, prosecutors from the Guangdong Provincial and Hengqin New District Procuratorates further introduced research outcomes on various prosecutorial organ-related topics, on which experts and scholars reviewed and commented. Participants jointly put forward ideas and plans for the development of the Hengqin Cooperation Zone.
