On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR), the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) accepted the invitation of the Public Prosecutions Office of the Macao SAR (MP) to visit Macao. A delegation headed by Mr Qiu Xueqiang, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Prosecutor General of SPP attended the Ceremonial Opening of the Judicial Year of the Macao SAR and paid a visit to the MP.
During their stay in Macao, the delegates were cordially met by Mr. Ip Son Sang, the Prosecutor General of Macao SAR and other prosecutors. The two parties conducted thorough discussions on continuing fostering close ties on the work between the Chinese Mainland and MP and strengthening judicial cooperation in all aspects between the two jurisdictions. In addition, the delegation also accepted MP’s invitation and participated in the swearing-in ceremony for the first group of five prosecutors-coordinators of the MP.
Members of the delegation include Mr. Ruan Dansheng, the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, amongst others. Ms. Ma Iek, Mr. Vong Vai Va, Mr. Mai Man Ieng and Mr. Choi Keng Fai, the Assistant Prosecutors General of the MP also took part in the meeting.
