On 10th October 2018, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region paid a work visit to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP). The Prosecutor General Ip Son Sang warmly welcomed the delegation. He extended gratitude to the Office of the Commissioner for their long-standing support and assistance in foreign exchanges and mutual legal assistance (MLA) carried out by the MP.
During the visit, Prosecutor General Ip Son Sang introduced the foreign exchanges and MLA conducted by the MP. He expressed that in upholding the principles of safeguarding national interests and pushing forward judicial work of the SAR, MP will facilitate further judicial exchange and cooperation with neighboring countries and regions, as well as Portuguese speaking countries.
Commissioner Shen Beili appreciated MP’s efforts and acknowledged the achievements of the MP in promoting judicial cooperation with neighboring countries and Portuguese-speaking countries. The Office of the Commissioner will continue to perform its due functions in supporting and pushing forward foreign judicial cooperation, in particular, MLA with neighboring countries and Portuguese-speaking countries, by judiciary organs of the SAR.
Members of the delegation included Deputy Commissioner Mr. Yuan Hengge, Head of the Department of General Affairs Mr. Zhang Jian, Attaché Ms. Zeng Siqi and the Secretary of the Commissioner Ms. Kang Yue. The MP was represented by the Assistant Prosecutor General Mr. Vong Vai Va, the Chief of Office of the Prosecutor General Mr. Tam Peng Tong, the Deputy Chief of Office Ms. Wu Kit I and Legal Adviser Mr. Vu Ka Vai.
