At the invitation of the Public Prosecutions Office of Macao SAR (MP), the São Tomé and Príncipe delegation headed by its Prosecutor General, Frederique Samba Viegas D'Abreu, kicked off its official visit to Macao on 24th May 2018.
In the morning on 25th May, the delegates paid a visit to the Chief Executive at the Government Headquarters, followed by a visit to the MP for in-depth discussions with the Prosecutor General of the Macao SAR, Ip Son Sang, and Prosecutors on staff composition, personnel training, anti-transnational crime efforts and international mutual legal assistance. In addition, D'Abreu and Ip signed a memorandum of understanding to forge closer ties and strengthen cooperation between the two prosecutorial organs.
During their stay in Macao, the delegates also visited the Court of Final Appeal, the Commission against Corruption, the Judiciary Police, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, the Legal and Judicial Training Centre and the University of Macau to form a comprehensive picture of Macao and its judiciary agencies.
