The sole judiciary organ to exercise prosecutorial functions
The Public Prosecutions Office (MP) of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) is the sole judiciary organ that exercises prosecutorial functions vested by law in the MSAR.
As an autonomous agency, the MP exercises its powers and discharges functions independently and free from any interference, with its independence and autonomy bound by the criteria of legality and objectivity. Subject only to the instructions prescribed by law, MP magistrates maintain objectivity, fairness and impartiality.
